Bridesmaid Gift Bracelets

It is a wedding tradition for the bride to give the bridesmaids a gift to say thanks for everything they do to help prepare for the wedding. I’ve seen people give little keepsakes, heard of people giving magazine subscriptions, a t-shirt, or various other personalized gifts. My favorite gift idea that I’ve ever seen is a piece of jewelry for all of the bridesmaids to wear on the day of the wedding. I mean a bridesmaid t-shirt is cute, but a piece of jewelry that can be worn again and again (I think) is a much better way to say thank-you! So, that’s why I was excited to get a custom order to try my hand at making lakeshore lavaliere bridesmaid bracelets for the girls to wear on the day of the wedding:

The white leather makes for an elegant twist on the wrap bracelet and perfectly complements the glass pearls. (Freshwater pearls also available). I was thinking of ordering a different charm as the clasp/closure for the bracelet, like a wedding bells charm, or a champagne glass charm, or even something like a bow or a dove. Thoughts??

Yellow Flowered Baby Headband

This yellow & ivory flowered baby headband was custom ordered for a very cute little girl. I was excited to get this order because I’d like to continue branching out into headbands for babies and toddlersespecially themed ones for upcoming holidays. I spoke to some of my friends and relatives who have babies and toddlers to find out the best way to design the headband so that it would be easy to put on and take off, stay on once it was on, and be comfortable for the baby wearing it. The elastic in this headband is specifically made for babies– it is super soft and the band is a little thicker which makes it easier to stay in place. I also added a velcro closure in the back to make it easier to put on and take off, and so that it can be adjusted to make it smaller or bigger if the elastic is too big or doesn’t stretch  far enough. I just loved making this headband, and I cannot wait to get the chance to make even more! Here are some pictures of the finished product:

New York Supply Trip!

I’m in New York, and yesterday I decided to wander around and try to find a jewelry supply store, but google maps on my phone clearly wasn’t working. I typed in bead stores, and the whole screen lit up with red pins as if I’d asked google maps to, I don’t know, somehow give me directions to like, all of the people within a 5 block radius. Not possible. But, as I’m shuffling forward perplexedly staring at my phone, I look up only to realize that I have run into 5 solid blocks of bead and jewelry supply stores. It was Mecca for jewelry makers. As I walked from store to store, looking in the windows, I found:

It was a sign. So, I went inside this store, and several others, and bought some supplies to fill custom orders, and to stock up.

I’m going to make a trip back to that little strip of Heaven over there today, so, if anyone has any more custom orders or requests, get them in now so that I can go purchase the materials today.

Here are just a few pictures of some of the materials I picked up:
