The bohemian look- at least in jewelry- is back, and I’ve been seeing reflections of it everywhere. I took this picture at this amazing store called 2 Old Hippies (which is kind of like Anthropologie, but even more expensive!).
A good amount of these necklaces were going for almost $700 each- but they were absolutely gorgeous.
Anyways, the bohemian/hippie beaded look for jewelry is an awesome style to use with the earth tones characteristic of fall trends. I still threw in a bit of turquoise, because, well, I love it, and because it makes a nice contrast to the other fall colors. Here are some of the new lakeshore lavalierebohemian style necklaces and bracelets:

I am just obsessed with the colors of fall-especially all the different shades of red that show up in the trees as the seasons change. So, I have many pieces for the upcoming months that try to capture the reds of the leaves, like this necklace and pair of earrings:

Simple chain necklaces with turquoise beads are great pieces to wear alone:
or layered with other necklaces:
A simple turquoise beaded necklace with a small pendant is also a great accessory if you aren’t into the layered look. Necklaces with small pendants are a cool way to use a necklace make a statement without creating too much visual weight (as larger pendants can do), and can be accented with other jewelry without making you look too over accessorized. I saw these elephants in NYC and knew they would be perfect to make into small pendants- (and I just LOVE elephants):

Statement headbands are a great way to add a fun vibe to your outfit or accessorize your look. They are also a great way to keep people from noticing how flat your hair is, or that you didn’t have time to wash it and had to throw it in a pony tail before running out the door. However, many headbands are too large or ostentatious to wear in certain environments (i.e. any type of office where the only kind of clothes that are appropriate to wear are super uncomfortable and have to be ironed on the reg). For those days where you absolutely need a headband to hide the flatness/unruliness/lack-of-cleanliness of your hair, or just want to wear a cute accessory to offset your more conservative outfit, try a headband with a thinner band and embellishments that lie relatively flat on the band. Stick to more neutral and muted colors, like this pale gold and navy headband with brassy/dark gold embellishments:
Large rings with stones are everywhere right now, and are a great way to supplement a statement necklace, larger attention grabbing earrings, or even a headband with a pendant/big flower when you want to wear another accessory but don’t want your outfit to look too crowded or busy. Large necklaces coupled with large earrings are often too much, can look gaudy or tacky when worn together, and can even add visual weight to your face and head- no matter how classy/cute they are when they are worn separately. Rings however, are far enough away where they don’t add any more visual weight to your face/head, and don’t detract from any headbands, earrings, or necklaces that you might be wearing. They are a great way to accessorize an outfit without going overboard!
