lakeshore lavaliere has been a dream of mine for some time, and I’m so excited to finally make it happen. I have always loved finding unique headbands and jewelry to accent outfits for different occasions, but hate how all the cute and affordable jewelry is mass produced, and how so much of it falls apart after a few wears. Getting home only to realize that my super cute necklace/pair of earrings/ring had a giant gaping hole where a certain gem/bead/flower etc. should be used to drive me CRAZY. So, three weeks into law school, (oh yea, I’m in law school-I mean, as an English & Spanish major interested in art, fashion, and jewelry, it was the obvious choice…) after having a dream comprised purely of text of statutes involving Property Law whirling and swirling around each other, I realized I needed a hobby. I started making fun and colorful headbands and pieces of jewelry that I knew wouldn’t have runaway flowers and rogue beads, and fell in love with the whole process, from hunting down the different pieces that I would later put together to create a headband, necklace, etc., to drawing out different combinations of the materials, to actually putting it all together. Once I started wearing my headbands, necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, etc., my friends, family, and even strangers began to ask about it, and started to make requests for pieces of their own. I soon decided to start my own jewelry line, lakeshore lavaliere, to showcase my creations and sell them- and with some help from a [much more technologically savvy] friend than myself, I’m now able to do so!
