I’m in New York, and yesterday I decided to wander around and try to find a jewelry supply store, but google maps on my phone clearly wasn’t working. I typed in bead stores, and the whole screen lit up with red pins as if I’d asked google maps to, I don’t know, somehow give me directions to like, all of the people within a 5 block radius. Not possible. But, as I’m shuffling forward perplexedly staring at my phone, I look up only to realize that I have run into 5 solid blocks of bead and jewelry supply stores. It was Mecca for jewelry makers. As I walked from store to store, looking in the windows, I found:
It was a sign. So, I went inside this store, and several others, and bought some supplies to fill custom orders, and to stock up.
I’m going to make a trip back to that little strip of Heaven over there today, so, if anyone has any more custom orders or requests, get them in now so that I can go purchase the materials today.

Orange and Blue are the colors of the season, and everyone is wearing them together. I needed a pair of orange earrings to go with a navy dress that I wanted to wear for an event, but I couldn’t find any that I really wanted. So, I sifted through my pile of old jewelry, and found some orange beads and gold pendants on some necklaces that I used to wear. They seemed the perfect size to combine with other pieces to make into a pair of earrings. I combined some chain, beads, and other materials I had in my jewelry arsenal, and this great new pair of earrings (and several other similar pairs) was/were born!

Statement headbands are a great way to add a fun vibe to your outfit or accessorize your look. They are also a great way to keep people from noticing how flat your hair is, or that you didn’t have time to wash it and had to throw it in a pony tail before running out the door. However, many headbands are too large or ostentatious to wear in certain environments (i.e. any type of office where the only kind of clothes that are appropriate to wear are super uncomfortable and have to be ironed on the reg). For those days where you absolutely need a headband to hide the flatness/unruliness/lack-of-cleanliness of your hair, or just want to wear a cute accessory to offset your more conservative outfit, try a headband with a thinner band and embellishments that lie relatively flat on the band.
